The figures, the owners and the evidence, in one place

Most organisations start with cost: reconciled, allocated and explained. Ownership and security assurance rest on the same model, so every figure and every finding answers to the same owners.

Cost integrity

  • The reseller workbook is the invoice. Cloudivence reads it as received, keeps the original file and recomputes its amounts from its own formulas. One reseller's format is supported today.
  • Each month passes named checks before it becomes final: the invoice lines against the purchase order consumption, billed against effective cost, reservation charges fully distributed, every expected subscription present.
  • Until the invoice arrives, the current month is estimated from Azure cost data at your contract price, and labelled provisional. The difference with the final invoice is measured, month after month.

Allocation and ownership

  • One mapping of resource groups to investment lines, cost centres and owners, kept in Cloudivence and imported from your existing spreadsheet when you start.
  • Changes go through a change set: validated, previewed with the amounts each line would gain or lose, then applied. A resource group can be split across several lines with shares that always total 100%.
  • Reservation costs follow the resources that used them. Whatever has no owner yet stays visible as unallocated, grouped by cause.
  • A closed month can be read with the rules that applied when it closed, or restated with today's rules. Each publication keeps what is needed to recompute it.

Budgets and forecasts

  • Annual budgets per line, with spend to date, the provisional current month and a month end forecast.
  • A budget planner for the next year: start from observed history, add planned changes as dated actions, see the effect per line.

Commitments and savings

  • Reservation use and expiry, with each reservation's cost placed on the consumers that used it.
  • Recommendations from Azure Advisor shown beside Cloudivence's own estimate at your billed rates. Advisor prices at retail, and the two figures are never added together.
  • Where a saving cannot be estimated, the page says so instead of showing zero.

Ownership and accountability

Assisted pilot
  • Applications are records of their own, with a business owner and a technical owner. Ownership is dated, so you can see who answered for an application on any past day. In a pilot we set them up with you.
  • Which resource groups and resources make up an application, and since when.
  • Each owner sees the budget lines and applications they answer for: cost, forecast and open findings, and nothing else.
  • An alert when a line's forecast passes its budget, shown to its owner in the application and optionally sent to a webhook or Teams, with the owner's response kept beside it.

Same model, same owners

Security and assurance

Security & assurance in detail
  • Inventory, Microsoft Defender for Cloud findings, Azure Policy, role assignments, network exposure, storage posture and backup protection, collected for the same resources the cost belongs to.
  • Findings traced to their resource, application and owner, with the decisions and control exceptions kept beside them.
  • Assessment against the CCB CyberFundamentals 2023 control set and the NIS2 Article 21(2) measures, with an Excel evidence pack for an audit.
  • Read only: Cloudivence changes nothing in Azure.
